HighVoltage
I'm going to be at PRGE this weekend, and inquired about putting my TI-99/4 (the original, not 4A) in the auction but was told it's worth about the same as a 4A, and could only be auctioned with a start price of $20 with no reserve. That didn't sound right to me. Anyway, if someone is interested in this, and will pay fair market (not sure if one has been on Ebay recently, I couldn't find one), I can bring it and sell it there. I have powered it up, and it seems to work fine, played some TI Invaders on it for a bit.

I have personally sold Ti-99/4 computers from anywhere from $150 up to $275.00. These are a lot more rare than the 4A's. but of course remember that the you can sell it only for as much as a buyer is willing to pay. You also have to think about exposure. The more TI enthusiast you have the more the price can go up. And with Christmas fast approaching, i have see items go for much more during this time of the year than any other. It only takes 2 people to create a bidding war! Edited October 14, 2015 by Cschneider

+Ksarul
Differentiators for 99/4s are also the manufacture date or the internal speaker/slide. The machines manufactured in 1979 have a slight premium (they often sell toward the higher end of the regular price scale) and the ones with the slides use a different power supply (the external power supply has DC outputs--not AC like all other TI power supplies for the /4 and the /4A) and are extremely difficult to find with a proper power supply. . . the later supplies will destroy them. HighVoltage
Thanks Cschneider, that's kind of what I was thinking. I thought the last one I saw on Ebay went for around $300, so I'll probably go that route, unless I get a good offer. Here are some pictures of the actual system. It comes with the power supply and is in working condition. Some information from the bottom: Model PHC 004C Copyright 1979 Serial 0114405 LTA3780 Assembled in USA Power supply is Adaptor Model AC9500, has the prongs coming directly off the transformer unit (ie. transformer is not in the middle of the wires). It says output: Pins 1,2 16.0VAC 36.0VA Pins 2,4 8.0VAC 1.0VA Edit: Did some more research: bottom is textured, not shiny like the back, and no earphone plug, so looks like a later one like Ksarul suggests below... Looks like the LTA3780 means Week 37 of 1980. Edited October 15, 2015 by HighVoltage
+Ksarul
That's one of the later ones, built in the beginning of September, 1980, about five months before production of the /4 stopped. Your real value on that one is probably a lot closer to the lower limit of Chris' estimate than it is to the higher one. Unless you happen to have the original 99/4 cardboard box to put it in, as that alone will push one of these closer to $250. . .
Bill Loguidice
Yeah, not having the headphone jack version is kind of a bummer, but I agree it should still easily fall within the lower range of the estimates.
HighVoltage
For those of you interested, I listed it on EBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Original-TI-99-4-Computer-1979-/191728308200
