Flojomojo
Racquetball. Once the computer player gets the ball, you're pretty much screwed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4VMfgCAWgo Do you remember a time when seeing that kind of fake 3D perspective on a home console screen was pretty cool? I do. Wow was I simple.

AlwaysOnPlanetPatrol
I think for me it's Burger Time. Terrible graphics, terrible control and terrible gameplay. I can actually play Airlock and Spider Kong/Inca's Gold for 15-20 mins.
Tickled_Pink
You sound like someone who would like Raiders of the Lost Ark on the VCS after reading the manual. Even more so because of your choice of avatar. My pick for laughingly worst Atari 2600 game of all time would be a tie between: 1. Raiders of the Lost Ark, purchased new in November 1982 for $30 out of enthusiasm for the film. Note: $30 in 1982 is equivalent to $73.94 in 2015 dollars. 2. Raiders of the Lost Ark, found in a pile of yard sale games without box or manual for next to nothing, but with no clue how to play it. Yeah yeah, "look up the manual online" or something. My point is that context matters, and a really good Atari game should be intuitive enough to be understood on its own. Adventure, Haunted House, and Superman are similarly abstract, but not completely inscrutable. And manuals don't always help. Still to this day perplexed by Riddle of the Sphinx and I bought it new back in the day.

Place Logo Here
Did we do VCS Donkey Kong yet? Ecccchhhhh. Only the Intellivision version is worse. I think it would be a coin toss between which is worse; however, the Intellivision DK Arcade homebrew is astonishing (I know that's not the version you're referring to) and the console's DK II is just as great.

I agree with you, but the existence of wonderful 21st century home-brew remakes don't nullify the terribleness of the Coleco originals on anything other than Colecovision.
