Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

For drunks you keep them away from alcohol, for gambling addicts you keep them away from casinos, etc. and one of the things that helps is when they hit rock bottom. Mike has already hit rock bottom and he can't sell big dreams anymore because none of us will give him his drug. So, him destroying his reputation is a good thing for him because the most he can do is talk about retro games, maybe post some videos, and just do the ordinary things that the average retro gamer does. Switching his mindset may be a struggle because habits are hard to break but he doesn't really have a choice now. He doesn't even need his salesmen reputation defended to post videos and the like as long as he isn't trying to sell something

But... people still have fun playing video games, there has to be some kind of a way for him to insert a pay wall in that process. They should have to pay him money to be able to have their fun playing old video games. He's a leader in the community and not making a cent for it. It's not fair. Just you wait and see, he'll find a way to corner the retro game market.

I myself have *gained* tons of laughs and enjoyment from this whole shit show. You really can't make up this kind of Tomfuckery. It's all been pure gold!

Right, so hardly something to complain about then?

Exactly. No money involved. House is still standing, and I doubt this FUBAR situation has anything to do with the fact that I have to get my shovel out for the driveway instead of cutting the grass.

Instead, it's been an amusing read and Al got another subscriber out of it.

Looks like the Chameleon has made an appearance at MGC this weekend in Milwaukee. Perhaps it's real after all.

Nice! I like the way they put the Coleco Chameleon logo on the TV and the remote control, too.

Wouldn't it be great if replicas of the Chameleon "prototypes" become a staple of classic game shows?

. . . I have to get my shovel out for the driveway instead of cutting the grass.

I'm pretty sure the simultaneous gasps from all of those sycophants on Facebook reversed Global Warming when they found out they weren't getting a Coleco Chameleon.

Your creepy obsession with my post history is just that: creepy. If I see a topic that interests me then I'll post there. I don't need your validation.

Creepy obsession? I saw your low post count, clicked your name, then "Recent Activity." Took maybe 5 seconds.

I just noticed the last visitor to my profile:

If you bother to look at the time stamp you'll see it is around the time I made my comment.

How about this? Don't interact with me and leave me alone. Your abuse of me does absolutely nothing to contribute to this discussion and quite frankly I am sick of you. I've not attacked you once before my interactions with you. Your self-esteem must be low if you get jollies attacking people so that you can prop your own ego. I'm not sure what I did to antagonize you, aside from a comment you clearly misunderstood.

As for low post counts, if this is how people treat people on this forum then I don't want any part. I experience plenty of abuse on social media and I don't need it here. This is the second time I've been jumped on this topic and quite frankly I am sick of it. If this is the way people in this community act then my post count will remain low. I paid for a single month because of this topic and I did so to thank the people here. I wasn't sure if I would remain and so I did not pay another month. Crap like this will only assure that I don't.

I have advocated for this forum, posted all the news from here, and promoted it all while this was happening. I think I deserve just a little respect, even though you should act respectful regardless.

I'm done with you.

I'm sick of his lying. I'm sorry you chose to interpret it that way and maybe I wasn't clear.

Yeh don't pay any attention. He'll pick on someone from time to time with little reason.

Isn't that what he's always done in the past? Talk, videos, print a publication, run a site, organize contests and get togethers?? You know, mostly harmless stuff.

Somehow, someway, classic gaming will feel a little empty once this fracas dies down. And hopefully someday an emulator will be made.

You mean like a mess/mame for vaporware?

I believe they already have them, they are called "steamers" and they range from cloth steamers to facial steamers and anything in between ... because you never know where you need that puff of vapor.

I think a proper emulator for the Chameleon would be something displaying its logo. That's all you'd need to do. And even then it would be an improvement on the real thing. Or, just RENAME a snes emulator. In the virtual world that's what MK would have done.

If you really want to get the Coleco Chameleon experience with an emulator, here's what you do:

  1. Get a pair of SNES controllers.
  2. Thread the cables through the front controller ports of an empty Jaguar shell. (If you need to enlarge the ports to fit the cable through, just fix it with electrical tape; nobody will know the difference.)
  3. Once you've run the cables out the back of the Jaguar, plug them into a PC via a USB adapter.
  4. Run an SNES emulator on the PC.

Simple as that!

Try this...

1. Make sure your hands are empty.

2. Cup your hands together to form the shape of a sphere, as if to hide something from.

3. Lift one hand away from the other a little bit, to reveal what is inside. It's the Retro VGS / Coleco Chameleon emulator.

Or...

1. Make sure your hands are empty.

2. Put both your hands behind your back.

3. Pick one hand, and reveal what's inside. It's the Retro VGS emulator.

4. Pick the other hand, and reveal what's inside. It's the Coleco Chameleon emulator.
