+eebuckeye
I am new to Apple and received my CFFA3000. I have been able to load games fine for my GS using the Smartport but can not seem to load any using the disk emulator. I have the CFFA3000 installed in slot 7 with the correct dip switch set for 2GS mode. I have slot 6 and 7 set to "Your Card" so I can use the Disk II emulator in slot 6. A few questions please.. :-) 1) Is there a way to page up or page down when in the CFFA3000 Apple GS disk image menu? I can use the up and down arrows no problem but a page up or page down would be much preferred when there are many files in a directory. 2) Should most Apple 2 disk images autoboot when the machine is turned on? 3) I put a disk image in Disk II S6, D1 (such as Championship Loderunner, Defender by Atari, etc) and then select 9. Quit - Boot to Slot 6. The image starts to boot and I get "Not a Startup Disk" and then get a prompt. I type "Cat" and "Catalog" but get a syntax error. These disks say Dos 3.3 images - is that the problem? How do I get them to work? Thank you.. I have very little knowledge on Apple disk systems as you can tell! Try hitting a letter key to zoom to the first file starting with that letter. Or... try segmenting your files into directories. 2) Should most Apple 2 disk images autoboot when the machine is turned on? Yes and no. Most do, but it also depends on your setup on your IIgs: what order have you set slots to boot in your control panel will affect that. By default, the Apple II boots from slot 7 and works its way down until it finds something to do. So even if you have an image in slot 6 that could autoboot... if slot 7 is occupied by the CFFA3000, that will get in the way. 3) I put a disk image in Disk II S6, D1 (such as Championship Loderunner, Defender by Atari, etc) and then select 9. Assuming you've also set the "virtual" Disk II to be in slot 6... Have you gone through the intro video?
+eebuckeye
Thanks for the info! I found out my main issue was that I disconnected the battery in the IIgs and every time I boot I need to go back into the control panel and set slot 6 to 'your card'. Seems to be much better after that! I do have directories for disk files by letter but there are still many with the same letter. A page down/page up function would be terrific but I guess it does not exist?
david__schmidt
A page down/page up function would be terrific but I guess it does not exist? What key would you propose to use for that? Again, try any letter key - I believe it zooms to the first file starting with that letter. I seem to recall there being situations where 'a' and 'z' did page up and page down, but I can't remember where that was.
+eebuckeye
I know.. I know.. :-) I press the first letter but it just moves down one by one since I have a directory with 100 files that start with S for example. I think I tried A and Z but will give it a shot. The Usotsuki
What about Cmd-Up and Cmd-Down? (Cmd is better know on the ][ line as Open Apple)
