+dhe
Disk of Horrors, Big thanks to blackbox for putting this out there for Halloween enjoyment! I few notes, I ran this on Classic99, setup was TI Disk Controller, automap Disk1. HORRORA.dsk <> DSK1. HORRORB.dsk <> DSK2. HORRORC.dsk <> DSK3. Everything seemed to run fine, the only time manual intervention is needed, is when you choose option A. You will be asked: Insert Disk C into Drive 1. Just do a pull down of disks, in Classic99, remap DSK1 <> HORRORC.dsk and press Enter
+9640News
Is there a scanned copy of Ralph Molesworth book, "Introduction to Assembly Language for the TI Home Computer" anywhere? Was looking for a scanned copy, but could not find anywhere either within CYC or on Whtech. Thanks. Beery

blackbox
Today a zip containing clean 480dpi TIF images scanned from the manual for McCann Software: TPA TOOLBOX - extras for their Printers Apprentice program. The zip this time includes the disk directories and the warranty card. You can find dsk files from the two disks below. Read, print, OCR or PDF as you wish. Like the Printers Apprentice this is in forth - and takes ages to load- BUT McCann has recompiled TI Forth so that this time you can use ANY disk copier on the disk. This forth uses the standard disk file system rather than the "screens" that TI Forth users are used to. You can drop to TI Forth from the menu system and return to TPA Toolbox from Forth. tpatb1.dsk tpatb2.dsk tpatoolbox.zip
blackbox
Here is a zip of hi res clean TIF images, scans of the manual for: Son of the Disk of Dinosaurs by Ken Gilliland, Notung Softyware. This package contained two disks with Dinosaur Facts, a 62 frame animation created with Comic Show, and a Paleontology Quiz. There was a TI Artist landscape picture and 17 TI Artist instances of Dinosaurs. The big fella on the cover of the manual is a Vulcanodon. It is noted that the animation may not play happily with Geneve or Myarc disk controllers. Ken says that animating with TI Artist Plus works with Myarc controllers but is unsuitable for longer pieces. enjoy s SonDiskDino.zip
blackbox
Here is a zip with clean 480dpi hi res scans as TIF images of the 40 page manual for Millers Graphics disk based program: ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS for you to read, print, OCR or PDF. If you do not know the program, please note it should be called Advanced DISK Diagnostics. There is one command to test writeable memory, everything else is about floppy disks and disk controllers. Now you can format a bit of your floppy as SD and half as DD (if your controller supports it)! Hide file names from directory lists! And lots of other disruptive stuff. You can find out if any files are fractured but have to use Disk Manager to unfracture them. If you have any interest in the floppy system, floppy drives, floppy disks, this manual probably has the information you need. If you have newer hardware note the command "DSR" to handle not-made-yet hardware. AdvDiag.zip
blackbox
For Ken Gilliland fans out there.... This week a zip of TIF image at 480dpi scanned from the manual for THE BRIDE of the DISK OF DINOSAURS by Ken Gilliland, Notung Software. For you to read, print, OCR and PDF as you wish. This zip contains the manual, the two disks as .dsk files, images of the two disk labels, and a text disk directory document (hint- use a monospace font such as Courier to view or print it). And also a sheet of the various pictures in native resolution. This disk set contains 13 TI Artist pictures (_P) with one in colour; 13 TI Artist instances (_I), an animation made with Comic Show (usual warning that it doesn't work with Myarc/Geneve disk controllers). Text content is an index of the various dinosaurs on the dinosaur disk sets from Notung and a list of dinosaur parks and museums. Staying in the dinosaur age, my next task is a mammoth one- the telephone directory known as the manual for Millers Graphics "Explorer" - advanced notice- disconnect any hard drives before using Explorer. It can wipe them. s bride_dino.zip
blackbox
Here are three zip files containing, in three parts, 112 hi res 480dpi tif images of the manual for Millers Graphics EXPLORER for you to read, print, ocr or pdf as you wish. Explore what your TI99/4a is doing - really doing- when running software. Lots of technical information. The manual as you may anticipate is of value even without the program. If you have the disk it can load with XB, EdAs, MiniMem, Myarc Loader, Disk Manager... Two important caveats- the details of console ROM/GROM relates only to one version, other consoles may (and do) differ. Atarisoft modules relied upon one version due to programming short cuts, and on some consoles the scores characters were 4 bytes out. Oh dear. Major caveat- Disconnect any hard disk you have before running as EXPLORER can easily wipe your hard disk due to interrupt / timing etc conflicts. Also does not work nicely with ram disks. Sadly my original manual was lacking ink in some places on some pages, I have filled these in but you may spot the insertions, sorry. explorer_pt1.zip explorer00.tif explorer_pt2.zip explorer_pt3.zip

Thanks for the hi-res repos! One correction, there is no need to disconnect your hard drive while using the MG Explorer. It only causes problems if you try to step through the DSR or run code that accesses the disk (such as stepping through a BASIC file operation), which is a warning in the manual. I have actually had to re-format my old hard drive because I did that and didn't catch the code before it started to communicate with the controller board. Ouch! Fortunately I had backups! Otherwise, no problem leaving everything hooked up. However, I have stepped through the HRD ramdisk DSR many times. No timing conflicts there as everything is in SRAM. What was your experience when you did this?

Can't recall what happened- a crash of some sort which may have been coincidental but it was safer to not use it. blackbox
Ken Gilliland, Notung Software... DISK OF THE OLD WEST manual as a set of 480dpi images in a zip file for you to read, print, OCR or PDF. Before you print or convert to PDF a warning: the two centre pages are a "centrespread" and have been scanned as a single page. The spread is a large picture made up from four of the instances in the set. This package of three disks includes an image of the man himself, Ken Gilliland. A set of text articles on the Old West, a portrait gallery- slide show of images. A sing along section- music with words. Ken has used the older versions of music and words, which in some cases have been rearranged or modernised more recently. And a Western gambling game- FARO, which he also added to his CASINO set of disks. Several TI Artist pictures including two borders, lots of TI Artist instances, and three TI Artist fonts to play with. No extras today so I have included in the zip a detail shot of Ken's home, which includes a graphic of NOTUNG tackling Fafnir. Somewhere I have a photo of Ken on his wedding day in his finest cowboy hat and boots but I can't locate it. Next up will be the US Manual for Alpiner- Ciro will be adding to ti99iuc the European manual for Alpiner in a little while... s oldwest.zip 7
Omega-TI
@blackbox Thanks for the heads up on pages 10 & 11, I fixed the issue and did a test print (with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC) in "Booklet Setting" and it came out perfect. Anyway, here is the PDF of it. Disk of the Old West.pdf

I sent this over to the TIPI, and will check it out tonight. I did a quick verification that it worked in classic 99 and found that the opening selection screen looks more legible smaller instead of bigger. That's a first!

Omega-TI
Anyone have a copy of this manual and the program to go with it? I have a few TI cassette tapes that I would like to label with period software for nostalgia's sake. I figure printing to the TIPI and then printing out the PDF should work. I tried another program a while back, but it never printed out the correct size, maybe this one will.
