sparkdrummer Posted April 24, 2016 Share Posted April 24, 2016 Way, way back my first "computer" was a Bally Astrovision (Astrocade) computer system. I really enjoy this machine and I still have 3 that work and 1 that doesn't seem to want to. Anyway, I typed in many a program from games that were listed in the Arcadian newsletter and I bought some cassette games that a few people were putting out commercially. One outfit that really put out some neat stuff was WAVEMAKERS. One game I really liked even though I sucked playing it was OBSTACLE COURSE TOURNAMENT. It was a simple game to play - a series of vertical bars with one opening on each appeared on the screen. A small box would move to the right at a constant speed and the object was to clear all openings to the last one on the right. Your only movement was up or down - you could not stop the moving box ( which left a trail behind it) or regulate it's speed. As play progressed - if you did well - more vertical bars appeared making the completion of the screen more difficult. If you did lousy (like me) there would be less vertical bars. I am wondering if there is any game that is similar in our TI world? A cartridge game that is awesome on this machine is The Incredible Wizard or Wizard of Wor. It would be neat to see a conversion on either or both of these games to the TI. I am new to the world of Youtube so I hope this link to a cheesy video I did shows up so you can see what Obstacle Course Tournament was all about. sparkdrummer Posted April 25, 2016 Author Share Posted April 25, 2016 OLD CS1 - If you move and hold the joystick in either direction the rate in which the box will move increases. tapping in the direction allows a sort of fine tune.
