Dropcheck
I have had some inquires into doing a second run of the Super SpartaDOS X pcbs. Just to clarify you would need to already have the original SpartaDOS X cartridge shell. Sorry, not included. Price would be the same. $40.00 plus shipping Example for shipping: US shipping: 1-2 pcbs via priority mail ~$7.00 International: 1-2 pcbs via international parcel ~$16.00 I would need a confirmed count of at least 10, with a maximum of 25. Confirmed by ordering and paying on my website. This time would be no limit of 2 per order. If the minimum was not reached then all monies would be refunded. The project would originate in the USA and take approximately three to four weeks to ship after the order window closes. The order window will be open from now until May 15th. Again I would donate $1.00 per pcb to the SpartaDOS X Upgrade Project. ABBUC members would recieve 10% off. If you did not purchase from me before I would need to confirm membership before the discount would apply.
+Larry
How do you procedurally handle the ABBUC discount? PM the purchaser a "coupon" code that can be applied at payment? -Larry

Dropcheck
How do you procedurally handle the ABBUC discount? PM the purchaser a "coupon" code that can be applied at payment? -Larry I think the easiest way for the customer is to order at the regular price and in the order notes I think in Paypal state your ABBUC registered name and #. I'll then confirm with ABBUC and if true will issue the 10% as a refund. Worst case here is you pay full price. Best case is that you get one of the limited run of pcbs and get the refund when the membership is confirmed.

Dropcheck
Update: To date only two pcbs have been ordered so far. Order window is closing May 15th. At this rate I believe I will have to cancel the run. Last warning.......
Dropcheck
Update: Due to the gracious and timely offer of gozar this run will be made. Parts have been ordered from Mouser. Boards will be ordered shortly. In about three/fours weeks I will be able to post the orders that have come in and have extras available in the store for immediate purchase. This will be the final run. You can still purchase in my store and when they are ready I will post them out to you.
Bikerbob
Is there a past thread to get a better description of this? This would have a version of Sparta that could be updated in the future? I have an original Sparta cart.. and I assume because the battery is there.. I dont need to use my RT8 anymore? is it just RT8 built in? or something else? Dropcheck
Here.....http://atariage.com/forums/topic/246676-super-spartados-cartridges-pre-order/ Yes it can be upgraded to a newer version of SpartaDOS This has a builtin RTC, so no RT8 is needed unless you are using software that is hard coded for the RT8
peteym5
For those of us that don't have the original SpartaDOS X cartridge. They can be ordered here. http://members.tcq.net/video61/compnew.html for $19.95. Will the PCBs fit into these original shells? I believe they should. +Larry
Can you elaborate -- which carts at v61 are you referring to? Larry

All I see is "$19.95 SPARTADOS 3.3C 64K(XL/XE ONLY) #" which sounds like the disk version on a cart.

gozar
PRODUCTIVITY & UTILITY CARTRIDGES These are the SpartaDOS X cartridges with SpartaDOS 3.3c on them. That isn't SpartaDos X (which I believe started with version 4.1 something), that's just a version of SpartaDos 3.3 on cart. I really don't know how useful that would be when you could get an AtariMax cart and have the real thing.
flashjazzcat
So am I to understand that we can order Sparta 3.3 on a cart, throw away whatever PCB is inside, and be left with a brand new ICD SDX pass-thru cart shell? Or is this just 3.3 put on some generic flash cart (as seems more likely)?
peteym5
I know a lot of Videos' 61 stuff is on EPROM and he had this stuff years before flash carts became available. The version of SpartaDOS on these boards, does it support 512 byte sectors?

peteym5
DropChecks board: Does it use the original 64K SpartaDOS X / OSS / ICD bank switching scheme? I know there had been versions ported to run on an AtariMax cart which occupies $A000 to $BFFF, a write to $D500 + bank number swaps the bank. I believe the original SpartaDOS X cart is 64K and its bank switching scheme is "8 banks mapped to $A000-$BFFF. $D5E0 to $D5E7". Basic XL, XE, and Mac 65 scheme is $B000 TO $BFFF is always mapped. Writes to $D500 to $D507 changes what is mapped from $A000 to $AFFF. I know the OSS/ICD carts had issues being set up to run on any of the flash carts because those either swap out 8K or 16K at a time, none just did 4K. flashjazzcat
Bank number at $D5E1 (avoiding conflicts with U1MB).

flashjazzcat
My question too. Would be cheap way to get the shell if true. Yes indeed, although note that my speculations are laden with incredulity. Pics or it didn't happen, basically.
Dropcheck
update: I still have six boards and all needed parts for assembly. Posting of completed board would be within two to three days of payment. See my first post for info.

See my first post for info. Can I get you to reserve one for me? Can't pay at this exact moment but within two weeks it will happen. Tried to leave a similar note at your website but no confirmation email has me doing it this way. TIA.
