Level42
The bad thing about this forum is you can't keep the first post updated, so it's almost impossible to create a serious list...
LX.NET
You can ask Albert for edit rights for the OP to keep updating the first post.

pixelperfect
My Lynx II had a hand written strip of paper over it with 0410201011081987. When I compared that to the above I realized it wasn't the real one, so i pulled it off and the original is there very faintly: Lynx II - Y12C1016978 (last two are faint, but pretty certain)
towmater
Unit number... where are we? Y1071003267 What's a slim d-pad? I can't find any references. Edited September 29, 2016 by towmater
Trew
The Lynx one can have one of two types of D-Pad. The slim one, I believe, is usually a black cross on a grey circle, and just the cross (up/down/left/right) is a moving part. The circle around it is fixed. The fat one is usually all one color? And is all one part, so the circular plate around the cross is built in. Not sure if that makes sense. Skinny: http://www.old-computers.com/museum/photos/atari_lynx_1.jpg Fat: http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/0/3104/417046-atari_lynx_1.jpg

Looking at the two I have, fat one was made in Japan and the thin on was made in Taiwan. Not sure why the change in location or D pad, maybe some could shed some light on this? Could be manufacturing costs? I also noticed that the slim D Pad (Taiwan) has PAG-0200 on it and the fat D Pad (Japan) has PAG-201? I distinctly remember when I got my first Lynx 1 way back in in the early 90/91 when it was first released in the UK it had the fat D Pad. Due to a fault with the power socket, the supplier replaced it with a brand new unit but with slim D Pad. Trew
My "fatty" D-pad Lynx 1 is also made in Japan: W2015021610 (PAG-0201) My "skinny" D-pad Lynx 1 is Taiwan: Y20A5008385 (PAG-0200)
CatPix
I got one today and there isn't any whie part on the sticker where the S/N would be. Odd. the sticker is all gray.
high voltage
All grey? Maybe the whole label is faded.
CatPix
Well if I compare with your own first pic of this thread, my sticker is a bit faded, but not enough that I can see it lack the white part where the S/N should be. Here is a pic of it. Not very good one but enough to see what I mean. I guess the S/N was on a sticker, I have seen this on other systems. Quite a not durable way to have it. To add to the mystery, this unit come with a fat D-pad. Tho I can't guarantee that it was originally shipped with it. tripled79
I haven't taken my Lynx apart yet, but I imagine the serial number would also be inside, maybe on the main board.
