Lost Dragon Posted March 8, 2018 Share Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) Bit of background info as to perhaps why the Jaguar only had 1 title in development from Core Design and it was a conversion from the Mega CD: Jeremy Smith as he was then, talking to Diehard GameFan Magazine.. GF:Are you not even tempted by the Jaguar? JS:it’s a wonderful piece of kit.Some of our Mega CD stuff would translate onto it easily,but it also conflicts heavily with our current buisness strategy.. He also said: Sega are being very canny about who they’re letting work on the machine (Saturn),by not developing for 3DO, Jaguar and Sony, they’ve given us a chance to work on the Saturn,which will start in early 1994. The only other formats we’ll be investing heavily in are PC CD Rom,because we see the PC market as stable and the Amiga CD32 which will get Heimdall 2 and Skeleton Krew. The Sony Playstation obviously shook development plans at Core Design up good and proper.. But prior to that, Jaguar just viewed as something suitable for Mega CD conversions.. Sorry i cannot put up full article, but it was made clear by the magazines I.P holder, Dave Halverson, that no part of the magazine was to be reproduced online. So i hope permission was sought from him, before the Tomb Raider/Swagman preview page was shared.
