The Usotsuki
A few days ago I was thinking, and a thought came to mind, to implement something like the Apple ][ or ][+ firmware for the Z80 card, to provide a similar user interface (monitor, BASIC, etc.)... I'm sure it can be done, it's just a Simple Matter of Programming®, and I don't exactly speak Z80, but it would probably be interesting to do anyway... JamesD
CP/M already has a set of console I/O functions. There is already a Z80 machine with an Applesoft II BASIC clone, the ADAM.Why bother doing this on the Apple II when you already have it running natively on the 6502. Osgeld
be a lot more interesting to paralell them both so, for instance, the z80 could run game logic independent of the 6502 which is handling graphics, sound and input
The Usotsuki
Yeah, that's a major failing of the SoftCard design. Ian Kim was working on an MSX card that could run Z80 and 6502 code concurrently, and was SoftCard-compatible to boot.
