tjlazer
These are great! Post more of them up in xex format! Should have a place where we can all download and try them out.
emkay
Pushing the thread a little with pure 15kHz tunes. You find them in the NYD 2019. This is unique and this one is "impossible" .
emkay
Hmmm.... C64 can do this track, using 3 channels. I wonder what happens, using my technique of the above tunes in 15kHz. I'd really try to check it out, if someone could add the correct notations for 3 channels of the SID tune to RMT.
emkay
I wonder if the track has been done in a SID Tracker, or if it is something native. Edited February 16, 2019 by emkay
emkay
Referring to PG's thread 4ch 50Hz 1 POKEY Some weird noise got added while recording. The fast riffs may need more accuracy though.
emkay
Different version. Low and High sounds fit better together. And some more guitar like envelope ...
carlsson
I wonder if the track has been done in a SID Tracker, or if it is something native. At Dooms Gate by Klegg was composed in GoatTracker 2.x, as exposed by Cadaver's program sidid. You can also use sid2midi to generate a text output version of every note, frequency, waveform, envelope and filter settings used, with a millisecond time base.
emkay
Lot changes in the fast riffs and now in NTSC speed , for some comparision.

emkay
OK. Giving up on this, because of "the old" timing issues. The fast riffs play a little different in Altirra. But, it shows the way to go
makary
Yeah, now this one sounds as heavy as required. Well done.
+MrFish
The fast riffs play a little different in Altirra. The high riffs sound garbled, to the point of almost unintelligible at times. Can you provide an XEX? I'd like to hear them on real hardware.
emkay
As I wrote above. My biggest concerns were about the fast played riffs, as they also need a higher octave. You know 15kHz and high notes isn't just daily given This one is recorded, using Altirra. It seems the Windows 10 integrated Game DVR compresses with artefacts. Oddly, it worked before ... Also, some changes in the fast riffs. I'd still prefer using the 15kHz filter, because the volume control is much better ...
emkay
Hm.... after some days passing and re-listening, parts of that latest tune sounds partially SID like and remind of some Amiga MOD sounds.
emkay
According to that above, here a version with more "cool" short riffs. Btw: the riffs play in a range of 3 octaves in 15kHz mode !
emkay
OK. This one is better "floating" from the deep line and the short higher riffs. I wonder , if it is possible to grant more stability of the sound creation in Altirra. Even activating the recording turns the timing worse. emkay
This one is less timing based. Also, it sounds very interesting on my ROG Phone. Parts of it (the short riffs) won't be changed, for some parts I'll try to find better solutions. .... will there be a final version ?
emkay
I wonder what people might say, seeing a 3D view demo, some walking through room, some dark "MooD" ... and this tune is running... Hmm. I named it stable, because without recording it IS more stable. So there seems also to be a timing issue with the Sound drivers in Windows. +Stephen
Sorry, couldn't resist Neat sounds - I like this. Does not sound at all like your regular pokey chiptune. Everything seems in tune and stable too.

José Pereira
Rastaconverter Thanks. Could you post it on the RastaConverter thread? I was trying with someone else on the other week and can't seem to find a way to do it on G2F that is always the only one I use and prefer to do things by my hand(s) ...
