Yautja
Hi fellow atarians, A few questions about Tomahawk, the helicopter simulator by Digital Integration, 1985: 1. Does anybody have an ATR file that requests user to input the lenslok code? 2. How was the lenslok code bypassed in the ATR files included in AtariOnline's collection? 3. Does anybody have the so called "Tomahawk disk"? It was mentioned in Atari User (UK) Issue 26. What was this disk about? +orpheuswaking
3) Tomahawk was released on both tape and disk. There was a disk version available on ebay a few years ago that I had my eye on but it went for too much. Sadly I have the tape version but no lenslok
R4ngerM4n
Tomahawk did not come with the lenslok system as contrary to Fighter Pilot.
+CharlieChaplin
Well, the disk version was a larger package and also included a bigger and more detailed manual, see atarimania. Did the article in Atari User mention there was an extra disk in the package, besides the game disk ? Luckily, Tomahawk did NOT use the Lenslok system - this counts for all disk and tape versions (none of them used Lenslok). Anyways, Thomahawk was later also available on disk from Datasoft in the US and errm, on tape from Byte Back in the UK. Both disk and tape versions did have copy protection - but the tape version from DI used only a gap/pause during loading, which could be easily defeated by copying the tape onto disk and load it from there with a C-Simulator (e.g. create a bootdisk of the tape with Howfen`s tape to disk program)... It seems I got that information about Lenslok from the Spectrum manual: And here... Regards, - Y -
