Shaggy the Atarian
They are insufferably posting on Instagram too. Lots of pro-VCS comments from people who don't seem to care that they took almost a year to finally show off some prototype plastic cases and have still not announced any new games or partners whatsoever for this miracle device. My favorite is their latest one which is taking the bold stance of proclaiming that somehow this Linux WebTV device will be as groundbreaking to entertainment as the original VCS was back in 1977
Flojomojo
That's funny ... the link to their instagram is typo'ed on their main page, so I wonder how people are stumbling onto it? At the risk of aiding and abetting this nonsense, the proper link is https://www.instagram.com/the_atarivcs/
TACODON
I almost feel bad for that intern. They are just a clueless cog in the wheel that is SCAM-TARI. Just tell them over and over again how cool and groundbreaking this crap will be...
jaybird3rd
The reason it looks like a tiny little nub is that it's just a less than $5 xbox joystick pot in there for all their pics so far. Wow, that's an excellent bit of sleuthing! This thing is starting to remind me more of the Coleco Chameleon every day: once again, you have a "retro console" created by a bunch of know-nothings who started with the case and the controllers—because, as Mike Kennedy taught us, that's half the battle right there!—and who tried to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by cobbling "prototypes" together out of parts from other systems. I never understood the appeal of the ridged design of the "new VCS joystick." How comfortable will it be to hold that thing after a few hours of play, and can you imagine how much sweat and grease and schmutz is going to be lodged in those ridges afterward, not to mention the smears and fingerprints which will inevitably be left all over that glossy black surface? Yecch.

Then it will be perfect for the purpose to which it was probably destined anyway: looking pretty sitting on a shelf, slowly gathering dust.

Which confuses me why they didn't just make what I've said they should have made from the beginning... a flashback on crack with a deluxe case. It would have been technically feasible, is proven marketable, and has existing distribution channels. The fact that Atari didn't go that route proves they have the business acumen of a methhead in a casino parking lot.

+Gemintronic
On their Facebook page they asked: AtariVCS May 28 at 5:01 PM · What are you looking forward to most in the Atari VCS? ️ So I replied: Any information for retro indie devs to start coding for it. Right now I could target the new VCS, new Intellivision or the Collectorvision Phoenix. Still no response.

Their 'media guy' doesn't seem to like to reply to detractors, just people endlessly falling over themselves about how awesome it might be. even when they reply on Reddit to folks that have legit concerns they act shocked, shocked! that someone isn't convinced that this isn't just an expensive emulator that got kicked down the road and mismanaged. Dubs' posts are equally entertaining. Exciting things coming soon, here's some old rehashed Medium posts!

Flojomojo
"Hey guys, the picture is just for fun. We will have lots more to show off very soon!" Let's play Bullshit Buzzword Bingo! We want you guys along with us for the ride, though it's proven to breed a lot of negativity and naysaying. Some of it is constructive and some it, well, just isn't. It's just plain old mean trolling. I mean, it's the internet, of course it's gonna happen!
TACODON
I was about to post about that Reddit page. They are certainly restless over there. But, with some good reason. Why is Atari it's self running that page now? How will that allow real discussion?
