Tavi
I have to admit the level of self-delusion coming from the Indiegogo lately is impressive. Sorry but system components are not like wine, and do not actually get better with age. Being years behind in production means the system specifications are now more out of date, not becoming perfected. In other totally-not-in-the-least-bit-surprising news; Atari has once again missed fulfilling their Indiegogo campaign requirement of providing updates on a project at least once a month by five and an half days now. Making this the third time in a row they have missed meeting this deadline. ... but then missed deadlines does seem to be the Atari Box main claim to fame so far! There does seem to be a lot of hope in the Indiegogo comment section about Atari making a big update on the two year anniversary of the project. Personally, I am thinking if Atari marks the occasion at all it is going to be with some kind of retrospective on the project, throwing in some vague 'We hope that..' non-information on where the project is at now and passing it all off as their (already late) required monthly update. I guess we will see what happens on the 30th?

Osgeld
next month AMD is going to announce its 4th followup to ryzen (Zen, Zen +, Zen 2 and soon Zen 3) since 2017 this shitbang started with a A8 was it? from 2014 then moved to embedded zen 1 ... maybe zen + one could build a zen + cpu with a dedicated gpu with 8GB ram at this point for around the same price, maybe even with a windows 10 license just for fun here's my wife's 3600x computer I built for her birthday, discounting the fact I had the graphics card already its about 500 bucks worth of parts ... with 5TB of storage and 32 gig of ram Edited May 29, 2020 by Osgeld

Atariboy2600
Hello Backers! We hope that each of you, your families, and your friends are staying safe and healthy during the quarantine. This unusual period has presented many challenges, but also afforded some opportunities for the Atari VCS team to capitalize on the extra time that comes with staying put. May 30th, 2020 marks the two year anniversary of the Atari VCS campaign on Indiegogo, and while to some it may feel like it's been even longer, we know it's all been worth it. The Atari VCS has come a long way and it’s almost here! Still, we ask that everyone please remember that to successfully make these final steps, as short as they are, the Atari VCS remains fully-dependent on the China supply and manufacturing chain returning to normal conditions. Despite the ongoing travel restrictions, we continue working closely with our manufacturing partners to finalize the production and delivery of the Atari VCS system and accessories this year. The team is spending more time than ever on trans-continental video conferences to make up for the lost factory visits. The first batch of ~500 Atari VCS has made steady progress to completion, with some key discoveries along the way that have allowed the teams to further refine the production processes. Atari VCS team members and a closed test-group have been putting the hardware and software through their paces over the past several weeks. Head over to our newest Atari VCS Developer Blog on Medium to read our latest update. We think you will be pretty excited when you see some of the games and apps that testers have been running on their Atari VCS units. Read all the previous Atari VCS Developer Blog posts here. Complete those lingering Backerkit surveys: Shipping is coming sooner than you think! Backers, there are still more than 250 of you that have not completed their survey and locked in their orders with the correct shipping info. If you don’t confirm with Backerkit, you may encounter additional delays in receiving your Atari VCS order. Please, go to https://atari-vcs.backerkit.com/ and get it done! Sincere thanks for your ongoing support! — The Atari VCS Team Me: Okay so? 1 2

If they've found refinements to the manufacturing process, it means they made one and it didn't work, so now they are fixing it. Yet again blaming the Chinese supply chain even though it hasn't been effected for months.

OCAT
Atari better release a few of those "500" units to youtube fanbois for review, or there might be Riots in the stree... " Indiegogo does not guarantee that campaigns will succeed or that perks will be delivered." They made sure they included that. I am sure they Indiegoogoo can see where this is going.
jamm
Bizarre update. So they're congratulating the procurement team for "searching all over the planet" to find the parts needed to make the devices they've promised to make. They specifically don't promise to have all the needed parts, but they're cautiously optimistic. Cautiously optimistic to maybe have completed one of the most basic steps needed to manufacture an item. This late in the schedule. Then they blame the reason they've failed to show anything for months on having "stranded" their only pre-production units at their office. Apparently they were in such a rush to leave that no one thought they might want to take them with them. And they couldn't retrieve them until they sent a "brave" employee back to their office on a "rescue mission". And they finish up with a few short, highly-edited videos (one of them duplicated) with a bored-looking guy playing a couple of Ouya-level games. And one last video where it looks like if you upgrade the little PC with a good SSD and some RAM it makes a workable little PC. Amazing. I can see why so many people are super-hyped for this thing. ?

MrBeefy
This was actually a good update as it seemed more honest and open. The Warzone gameplay was choppy even with being upgraded which isn't surprising, but the other games seemed to play fine. Might make a decent indie TV box. If they had focused less on deleting comments, listening to concerns as opposed to labeling people trolls, and being more honest about what was going on, they wouldn't have the rep they do right now. Self inflicted wound unfortunately. Hopefully they can get it kicked into gear get the backers their unconsoles and put this whole debacle to rest.

+frankodragon
So why around 0:19 and 0:25 of this video are there jump cuts? Is it taking forever to load or someone behind the scenes is having technical difficulties getting it to work? Also look closely at the rectangular picture on the left around 0:19 -something fishy is going on but we all knew beforehand with their trickery smoke and mirrors.
