tschak909
And now, the MS-DOS version has reached alpha. You can get it here: https://github.com/tschak909/platotermpc/releases/tag/0.1-ALPHA Some shots: VGA 640x480x16 MCGA 320x200x256 EGA 640x350x16 Hercules 720x350x2 CGA 640x200x2 CGA 320x200x4 That should cover just about everybody. (yes, I have a PCjr/Tandy 1000 version planned, I have to write a patch for the Watcom graphlib to support it, though.) No, I am not adding SVGA modes, there is no point. This way, everybody's compatible and you get all the colors you'll ever need with VGA. -Thom

tschak909
oop! sorry I missed you, after I released, I sort of unplugged for the rest of the day, as I had just spent four days straight building the MS-DOS port from scratch. -Thom
tschak909
Is anyone testing these terminals? sigh. -Thom

Centurion
I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to get my A8 online. I left sort of an oddball question that I never got a reply on and haven't had time to delve further into it than that yet: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/196354-ataris-plato-cartridge-question/page-18?do=findComment&comment=4132119 I'm still working towards connecting, just not easy when I'm having to pick out little bits of info from tons of posts over the years. If I can figure it all out, I plan on writing an A8 guide. I have an 850 now, just trying to use a Pi for the bridge, instead of an Lantronix. Keep up the awesome work man. tschak909
You need a terminal cable (aka null modem cable), get a CX88 terminal cable from B&C computervisions, and a 9 to 25 pin adaptor, along with a USB to serial adaptor. This is everything you need. -Thom
tschak909
Also, you should grab the Atari version of PLATOTerm (which supersedes TLP) -Thom
Centurion
Ahh, so... 850 > CX88 > 25M/9F > Serial/USB > Pi(tcpser) Is this correct? I can't make out gender on the CX88 photos. Edited October 19, 2018 by Centurion
tschak909
CX88 cable is M/M, as is the usb->serial cable, so the 9/25 is a F/F adapter. -Thom

tschak909
np, ask me these things, because I am trying to: * get people to test the software * get people onto the service * show what's possible. and hopefully: * Get people to own parts of the system * Help facilitate other people's crazy ideas. -Thom
