Opry99er
How many of you have ever attempted the million point Laser Blast run? I'm considering blowing half a day on this endeavor, mostly because it is dumb and unnecessary--but also because I see million point patches pop up fairy regularly online. Below is my best evidenced score, however I have gone as far as a quarter million and just gave up because I had other things to do. How bout it? Any other crazy people out there?
digdugnate
i haven't yet, but just haven't had the time to monkey around with stuff more than 30 minutes at a time. My first one is River Raid- I broke 18k on the game today and the patch is 15k
Opry99er
Well done! I haven't even tried for the patch on that one yet.
toiletunes
I did !!!!!! on laser blast once, it took 4-5 hours. Don't eat or drink before starting, you'll get drowsy and mess up- plus, there are no bathroom breaks in space!
lokidchser
If you do try it, when you hit your mark, dont drop the joystick in triumph. I made that mistake back in the day, and it reset the game.

BassGuitari
The only game I have the patience and interest to break a million on is Defender. 2600, 5200, Coleco, TI-99/4a, or Commodore 64. Those games really needed to increase the point requirements for bonus ships and smart bombs. I've got to Git Gud on the Apple and VIC-20 versions. Those ones are among the few that still kick my ass.
Nutsy Doodleheimer
I did twice and it took me like 6 hours. I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!

AAA177
I haven't played this one in a while, and I forget the thing about it -- is it just that it's basically an easy game once you get the hang of it and simply was a matter of endurance, or was there a trick to getting so high a score? Opry99er
Once you get the pattern, it's just slugging through 5 hours of a mind-numbing repetitive pattern until you freeze the game at a million.
nads
I've done it Twice! The second time I developed a pattern that shave an hour off my time. If your are serious 2600 player completing this is a must. Good luck!

Opry99er
This is as far as I got.... I simply couldn't sit there for one more minute, much less another 2 hours. IF I ever try again, I need to have myself a beverage and a snack set up for the 3 hour mark and have a comfortable chair or pillow to sit on. This challenge sucks.
