Hannacek
I just got an Adam Computer, and a Super Game Module. Does the Adam not require the SGM to play SGM games? I have the AtariMax SD card with several SGM Roms, and no physical SGM carts. It seems like the Adam doesn't need the SGM, where as a regular Colecovision needs the SGM to play SGM games. Is there any reason to connect the SGM to the Adam? Edited June 16, 2018 by Hannacek
ten-four
Hi Hannacek. You'll need the SGM for those games that is programmed with the AY Sound chip. Most of these SGM MSX reprogrammed games are those from Eduardo's hand. But also Wizard of Wor use both SN and AY chip.
NIAD
It depends. Most, if not all of Eduardo's SGM games check for the presence of the SGM as well as use the additional sound chip in the SGM, so you will need to plug it into the ADAM. Some games that support or require the SGM on the CV can be played without the SGM on the ADAM. You just have to test them out as I don't think anyone has made a definitive list. Hannacek
It sounds like some game refuse to work without the SGM, and other games work with no sound, but otherwise the game plays.
