bkcarroll
Well, I've lurked around these forums for years and this is my first post. I'm in the process of moving and have decided to let go of a few of my Atari items that I've collected over the years. To start things off, I'm getting rid of one of the heaviest. I picked up this drive a couple of years ago as part of an estate sale. It powers on, but I have no disks for it so I've never tested it. It's in decent shape as you can see in the pictures. One odd thing is the thin blue wire coming out of the bottom of it. I never opened it to see what it's connected to, so I'm not sure why it's there. I'm not a fan of eBay, so I thought I would take offers here before trying to sell on there. Feel free to make an offer or ask questions if you are interested. Thanks! bkcarroll
Bobby, I think there is a version of this drive for the TRS-80, but this is the Atari version with SIO connectors. Brian
Islandstumbler
Incredible this sold for over $800 USD on Ebay! Didnt know this was such a rare item in such demand. Tried to get it but was outbid fast.
RobPattonDotCom
This was on my list of things to own before I die. I remember when they came out, but there was just no way I could afford one. Turns out now I can. I also have a non-atari one and a bunch of disks. Someone besides me also REALLY wanted it, I guess.
RobPattonDotCom
The blue wire was connected to the dipswitches, I guess someone wanted an easier way to control dipswitch1. On the plus side, unit works well once I sorted out which of the 8 switches did what. Managed to format a disk with mydos and booted.
