Does anybody know the history of Synapse's Filemanager?

Thanks!  I will try it.  I may have an original FM800 around here, but I'm not sure.  I got a s-load of Atari soft and hardware years ago, and think I remember seeing it in there.  But packed away, for years.

Edit:  Yes, yours appears to work 100% of the time with Translator A.  I tried the Atarimania ATR, and it sometimes works, and sometimes it hangs when loading the Create module.  Using APE, BTW. I also got motivated and found my original FileManager+, and it hangs 100% of the time at the same point.  I have a little note on the disk (Version 4C) -- "needs 810 drive."  I don't understand that, but that's what my note says -- from many years ago.

There are some types of bad sectors which return different error codes and lead to an 810-exclusivity of the disk if only this specific error code is allowed by the protection code.

But I did not find anything like this of Filemanager.

Just our of curiosity a 4C image for you to test: Filemanager+ v4C (1981)(Synapse Software)(US)[BASIC][OS-B][cr CSS].atr

4C behaves similarly to the Atarimania version.  Sometimes it works; sometimes it hangs.  4D has yet to hang.  I've loaded it maybe 6 or 7 times.  That's a bummer about my original disk.  I gave my last 810 away maybe 25 years ago.  :(

Edit: I have tried the Atari Translator Side B (supposedly like OS A) with much better success with version 4C.  It appears to work reliably -- 5 out of 5 loads were successful.  Now to try some things with my original disk!
