pjduplooy
Hi guys Has anyone made a full dump of WHT? If so what was the easiest program to use to take the dump? (I want to do it over the weekend, but don not want to put too much effort in it. (Basically let the program run unattended). Cheers
Keatah
I'm fairly sure I used FileZilla, it was a while back..?

+mizapf
Why is Don doing it this way? It actually breaks the standard anonymous login as implemented in the browsers and tools like wget. The standard has always been user=anonymous, passwd=some formally valid mail address.
pjduplooy
I am actually using wget on http://ftp.whtech.com. No username or password.

RXB
I used ncftpget several years ago, before the Big Reorganization. Was 19.4GB. Wow that is funny as my current TI Library is at 34 Gig, but with insane number of duplicates. Like 7 versions of Classic99 with entire disk image and FIAD file list duplicated over a few years. When I mirrored I set a delay which made the download run for almost six days. Speaking of... I would be happy to mirror. I have plenty of space and bandwidth available. +mizapf
As you saw above, the complete download was about 37 GiB for me (in February). I don't know how long it took; I ran wget on my hosted vServer and logged off. (Then I remembered that I started that download job two days ago - had finished in the meantime, of course ... ). +mizapf
Don told me by e-mail that the non-standard anonymous handling has to do with the FTP software they are using, using authentication libs to support secure FTP, which required every user to have a single password (hence the null password for anonymous). He said that the developers try to find a way to fix it. For the time being, the web interface should be used.

+OLD CS1
wget is great for these purposes if you get the arguments right. Is it easy to get in touch with Don? I would be happy to do a daily sync with him as a mirror.
