Wyluli Wolf Posted September 26, 2018 Share Posted September 26, 2018 (edited) Might be a long shot but I'm hoping one of you electronics guru's might be able to help me troubleshoot a SMPS in a Samsung DVD-V4600 vhs/dvd combo unit. Attached is the service manual. The issue is the unit will not power on. When the unit is plugged in there is a buzzing/humming noise coming from the power supply area. I'm hoping this is a clue as to the issue. I've tested the main large capacitor and what I believe are the startup resistors (removing one leg from the board first). All tested fine. All capacitors look fine visually (no bulging, leaking, etc.). The cylindrical fuse is also fine. I keep eyeing the power transformer but that is probably because it's big and yellow lol. I was going to test the mosfet next but I can't get it out as the transformer is in the way. Any clues or advice on what to try next?
