demonseed
Hello Looking for cheap way to hook a Atari 800 to my tube tv. I just need to test the unit. I was looking at a coaxial f adapter but wasnt sure if they work? Suggestions are much appreciated.

+Nezgar
a coaxial F-Connector to RCA adapter like this is available at pretty much any hardware/dollar store: then use a plan-jane male RCA cable on each end. Set TV for either channel 2/3 depending on switch position on an NTSC machine, or channel 36 on a PAL machine.

Swami
For reduced RF interference: Double shielded high transmission RF cable, as short as useable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002GX0ZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and Ferrite clips: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E5E5IY4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I noticed a big difference in the RF fidelity with my old-timey stock set-up.
jnharmon
There are really 3 options for the 800. In order from best to worst, here they are: 1) If your TV has an S-Video input, then the 800's Chroma and Luma output from it's video connector will give you the best picture. A cable that supports that is one like: https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/atari-8-bit-svideo-cable-for-800-65xe-130xe-for-sale 2) If the TV doesn't have S-Video, but has composite inputs, the next best option is the type of cable above: https://www.vintagecomputercenter.com/product/a-v-audio-video-tv-cable 3) Finally the last option is if the TV only has an RF/coax input. In that case the type of adapter above will work: https://www.vintagecomputercenter.com/product/atari-rf-adaptor

Kyle22
This is your best bet if you have a very old TV that only has 300 ohm input (two [or four] screws). If you have F connector input, then you only need the first one. And, for very old TVs: The 75 ohm to 300 ohm balun.
