How to connect atari 800 to tv crt?

a coaxial F-Connector to RCA adapter like this is available at pretty much any hardware/dollar store:

then use a plan-jane male RCA cable on each end. Set TV for either channel 2/3 depending on switch position on an NTSC machine, or channel 36 on a PAL machine.

For reduced RF interference:

 

Double shielded high transmission RF cable, as short as useable:

I noticed a big difference in the RF fidelity with my old-timey stock set-up.

There are really 3 options for the 800. In order from best to worst, here they are:

 

1) If your TV has an S-Video input, then the 800's Chroma and Luma output from it's video connector will give you the best picture. A cable that supports that is one like:

2) If the TV doesn't have S-Video, but has composite inputs, the next best option is the type of cable above:

3) Finally the last option is if the TV only has an RF/coax input. In that case the type of adapter above will work:
