jrhodes
The Control Data CDC-99/4A's were basically a v2.2 TI99/4A with a different logo sticker, or were they? Is there any real differences between them and a normal v2.2 unit? I know some of the v2.2 systems were made in the black style, so how about the CDC's; Are there any black CDC units? fabrice montupet
All CDC-99/4A I have opened shown a 99/4QI computer. So the GROM version is 2.2, with a minor modification to display the CDC logo on the title screen.
blackbox
There was a differing GROM chip (GROM 0) which displayed CDC on the title screen and menu screen instead of TI.
+Ksarul
This change is similar to what was done with a modified GROM 0 for some of the Argentine Spanish consoles. The title screen came up in Spanish and the semicolon was replaced with the tilde-n used extensively by Spanish speakers.
globeron
Control Data Corporation - 1983 (after 1982 TI's V2.2 QI (Quality Improved) version, but I am not too sure how test these limitations like non-TI modules in an emulator). Here you can find the roms for CDC: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/241337-ti-994a-beige-consoles/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3296182 Here is the title screen at the left running in the MESS emulation system (nowadays you should run the MAME emulation system).
