+KylJoy
I came across a dead Osborne Executive recently. I was saddened by the demise of this wondrous creature and determined to bring it back! So,I present to you on this first day of 2019, THE RESURRECTED OSBORNE EXECUTIVE in all its new-found glory: It does still smell of smoke a bit
towmater
How did you make the OS disk?
+KylJoy
That is quite a story. I had to build a PC that has a floppy drive controller and found a compatible 5 1/4 inch drive that would allow me to write one from images I found on the web and also floppy imaging software. I would make them for folks if they would pay for the floppies and shipping.
Opry99er
What all was wrong? I'm guessing an electrolytic cap or 2 on the PSU?
+KylJoy
Yep. Power supply caps were shot (exploded, actually). Here's what I did: Disassemble unit Clean everything (I should have taken some "before" pics, it was filthy) Repair power supply Clean floppy drive read/write heads Test Reassemble Enjoy The hardest part of the whole process was finding media. I've got that worked out now.
