Tempest
Are you sure you simply never noticed? It's possible I suppose. Still, I'd think I'd remember if there were serious geometric distortions in the picture. I also wonder if my RGB to Component converter isn't adding some distortion somehow. I should test some of my systems with S-Video and see if some of these bowing issues go away.
hitokage
The geometry distortion may be because it's one of Samsung's Slimfit models - I seem to remember that being a problem with those.
Tempest
Yeah they have a bad reputation for sure. Still, it was free and I'm determined to make this work.
Tempest
I've got the geometry adjusted to the point where I think it's about as good as it's going to get. The blurry image on the left and right side of the screen (about an inch or so) is a bit annoying and once you see it you can't unsee it. I'm hoping that once I get it into it's final position in my game room the six feet between me and the screen will diminish that a bit (right now I'm about 2 feet away). I'm still not sure if I'm going to use this TV or my PVM though. The PVM has a better picture (obviously) but 19" vs 27" makes a big difference. Decisions decisions....
