Omega-TI
There are some really anemic systems out there, mere game machines at that, with less power than our TI-99/4A, and they have versions of Omega Race. I'm hanging my head in disbelief and shame that we don't have a port of this awesome game. digdugnate
lol- Bill Cosby notwithstanding, it is weird that TI didn't see a proper port of Omega Race. This is hands-down one of my fave carts for the C64.

Omega-TI
might be too boring.. 2d.. wireframe.. Possibly, but some of those old games kicked-ass and were fun as hell to play, also a jazzed up version would be cool too. The Atari 5200 version looked better than the original arcade version. I love the game I own two of the arcade games upright and cocktail table Sent from my LM-G820 using Tapatalk I watched this game a lot as a kid. Mostly because no good at it. There was a cocktail version in the restaurant atop Pyramid Plaza in Lubbock TX. (My mental map had a lot of neurons devoted to where the arcade games were.) Sunware/Exceltec had an office on the ground floor. I like to think they came upstairs to play Omega Race.. but shipped Space Patrol.
Omega-TI
BITD I put a lot of money into the Omega Race arcade game during my lunch breaks. The winner didn't have to pay for lunch!
Omega-TI
This Omega Race cockpit version looks great, I of course have no room for such a treasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80L9fnSvbTk
Omega-TI
It's not quite the same, but you can play online << HERE >> X to fire and arrow keys to control movement. The screenshot below was from my first game in DECADES.

Asmusr
Rasmus? No, it doesn't look interesting to me. (Actually it's a bit similar to my 4K entry FORK.) And my plans are, while waiting for the F18A MK2, to do something else than TI-99 games for a while.
+mizapf
I think we could need a Rasmus API by now, or employ him as HaaS (Human as a service).
Tursi
It's not that weird, TI actively discouraged people from porting arcade titles by trying to control the market. Margins weren't that good in the first place, add in a license to the arcade holder and a license to Texas Instruments (plus TI's manufacturing cost for the GROMs) - or alternately the risk of TI suing you for trying to do it without them, and it didn't make a lot of business sense. I always liked Omega Race, but it was a little obscure for some reason - which is probably why no homebrewers tried it. The Vic was the only home version I ever got to try back in the day! I don't think I remember it well enough to do much good today.
+save2600
Love the game, always have - but the ColecoVision version looks like ass. Especially not a fan of the solid colored borders. Wireframe or bust for me! Thankfully, we have the Vic-20 and the C64 versions and both are excellent for what they are.

Currently working on a 40 col text editor under CP/M using 8080 assembly for the Coleco Adam computer. A tool to make tools so to speak. Omega-TI
I was super ecstatic when Borzork was released for the TI. That one was on my "Bucket List" for the TI. The recent release of Pengo was great to see as well. The guys here have fulfilled so many of my hopes and wishes over the years, that I don't have much on my list anymore. Just thinking about it right now, I only have a mere four wants left! Shocking!
