PixelCrunch
Hey, Pixel Here. I was wondering if there were new graphic trickery techniques that exist, or are very similar to the ones found on the Atari ST’s eternal rival, the Commodore Amiga series (Extra Half-Brite Mode, Hold-And-Modify Mode, COPPER, etc.) Also, I want to know about the graphical capabilities of the Atari’s T.T / Falcon 030 (Resolution, Palette, etc.) Thank you, and please respond! ST) - more colors: use BLiTTER to show more colors than Spectrum512 - new tools for more colors: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/292817-spectrum-512-4096-or-other-editors/?tab=comments#comment-4306630 - new video modes: 1280x200 mono, 320x400 with 4 colors, 160x400 with 16 colors: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=34108 - new overscan: invented by Evil/DHS, it uses less cycles than standard one, STE only; TT) Standard resolutions: 1280/960 mono; 640x480 with 16 colors and 320x480 with 256 colors There were no any additional investigations/attempts to boost resolution besides demo http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=52339 which shows more than 16 colors in 640x480 Falcon) It has fully programmable video chip, which is only limited by its internal pixel clock: 32MHz and 25MHz. A color depth depends on the main bus speed. In case of standard Falcon it is max 1/2 pixel clock for 16bit color. 256 color mode works on full pixel clock. You can boost its graphical capabilities: - add the bus speeder (e.g. Phantom) - not so easy - add faster external pixel clock - easy Edited July 14, 2019 by Cyprian_K smoe additional infos
