bluejay
My crt's fuse blew for some reason, and I just happen to have some random fuses laying around. What happens if you put a wrong fuse into the wrong machine?
mr_me
I think if you use a larger fuse, you risk overloading the circuit and damaging components. A smaller fuse and it might not work.
Keatah
Fuses blow for a reason. And you will need to discover that reason and fix the issue - otherwise it will likely happen again.
jhd
In my Grandfather's era, house wiring used screw-in fuses (unlike modern circuit breakers). It was not unknown to replace a blown fuse with a copper penny. It worked just as well to complete the circuit and it was cheaper/easier than actually purchasing a replacement fuse. ☠️
Keatah
And bonus points too because you could get more power from the outlets. Run more stuff.
nick3092
Even bigger bonus in the winter when the wires in your walls would get nice and toasty when you ran more stuff.
