Wyluli Wolf
Digging thru boxes and found one more of these: Purchased a non-working Atari Lynx II awhile back in the hopes of repairing it. System did not power on when I received it. Attempted the 5V mod. Tested the capacitors with a capacitance meter and all but three seemed fine. I removed the 3 in question and tested again out of circuit and they seem ok. I'm afraid I don't know enough about electronics to attempt further repairs. If someone else would like to give it a shot, here you go. I'll leave the cables unplugged and the 5v mod in place so you can troubleshoot. Screws and 3 removed capacitors are in a baggie and included. Also included is an extra screen cover and an extra screen (unknown if extra screen works). They need cleaned up. Cosmetically, the Lynx is in nice shape and complete. See photo's and ask questions if you have any. Will also consider trading for boxed/complete Atari 2600 and boxed/complete Atari Lynx games I still need. See second message in thread below for game want list. $37 $35 plus shipping Package weighs 1lb 9oz. Quickie
Declaring interest. Could you please check the price of shipping it to Spain? I have a Lynx II which needs a magnifier replacement, and this would be great. The non-working Lynx II adds more fun and challenge to the package to test myself if Iwouldbe able to fix it. Thanks
lmich391
If you don’t work anything out with Quickie, I would be interested in it
TheCoolDave
I thought about it, and would of been interested but, I got enough projects right now!
Quickie
Hi, Thanks to Wyluli Wolf for selling this Lynx II. Was quite challenging to revive it. Yesterday arrived the missing component it lacked (a 80 mH coil) and I was able to dedicate some time to fix it. In resume: - Removed the 5V mod (repaired battery cut trace, placed the diodes in their original location + added a new one, added the mentioned coil and 3 removed capacitors). - Did the powerup refresh (zener, r74 and mosfet) After that the Lynx II powered up, but the power led was very dim and had no picture/audio and constant full backlight. Replaced Suzy, Mikey and the two Dram ICs and...the console came back to life!:
sirlynxalot
Wow sounds like you replaced almost everything! It seems a bit of a shame when a restoration requires parts you can only get from another lynx. Not trying to be rude but am just curious why it was better to fix this lynx rather than the one suzy and mikey came from.

Hi, I did not use other Lynx as donor, I did have spare custom ICs for repairs. Cheers
sirlynxalot
Wow, you manufactured custom replacements for mikey and suzy? That sounds incredible. I know some people in the lynx forum have been having issues with suzy recently on broken lynxes, I think it would be great for the community if you were able to manufacture some for others to purchase. Hopefully we would have new replacements for the Mikey an Suzy ICs in the future, but I refered that I had spare NOS original ICs of both (as you can see in the pic I attached, those are Atari mfd). Unfortunately I don't have more, and the provider I bought them isn't in business anymore
