Lynx addict
Hi to the community. I found in my attic my Old Lynx V1 with plenty of games. Unfortunately, it seems an old battery made some internal damages to the beast. I would like to know a way to repair it. Who, how, can somebody assist me ? have a great day
EpikalPuppy
You should link some pictures, that way, people would be able to give you specific advice on what components need to be replaced or fixed.
power
leaked battery is a minefield, you will need to open it all up and inspect everything under a magnifier imo. and that could be only part of the issues from an age standpoint. a timely reminder for all - only buy lithium or rechargeable batteries such as eneloops for your electronics you care about! no leaks!! +karri
The problem with leaking batteries is that they leave an invisible layer of acid on the pcb board itself. I would buy a bottle of Isopropyl alcohol (also known as isopropanol or 2-propanol) and a paint brush. Use plenty of the stuff to clean off the acid. You can check if you get it off by a multimeter. The surface of the pcb should not conduct electricity. Use the ohm mode on the multimeter. Also clean the plastic in the battery compartment. It is likely to be a conductor as well.
