Unless the controllers are made larger, it will likely be a nice looking mini prop.  As for the mini TV and console, it may be possible.  Tiny Circuits (https://tinycircuits.com/collections/diy-kits) offers a working and usable mini arcade machine (I own one).  They just came out with a "TV" that plays back media files.  However, these are Arduino-based so I doubt Arcade1Up porting jzintv to their own variant of these, though I could be wrong.

As I understand it the Commodore name, logo, IP, etc is owned by Polabe Holding NV formally C= Holdings . Ignore the fact they don't update their website, it's still them. Their contact email address is; press@commodorecorp.com

Other things like; the C64 Roms, BIOS and the Breadbin form factor are owned by Cloanto Inc .

As for the using the C64 font. I would be less worried about that, there is a history of the font being used by third parties in games (GTA Vice City, VVVVVV etc) and products without any legal action being taken.

I would however be wary of using the Commodore Chicken Head logo, that's definitely something that could get you in trouble.

 

Either way, the announcement sounds misleading, which doesn't surprise me.  AtGames did a great job on remaking the controllers of not only the Intellivision FB, but Coleco, Sega and Atari... pretty much every system they did.  They just didn't deliver on the system output quality and game choice.  The only one in my opinion that is really good is the Atari system.
