Mehridian Sanders
I have come into possession of a Xeltek Superpro/L - 32 Pin ZIF - Rom Master (E)EPROM Programmer. I was also lucky enough to have the manual accompany it. The Manual indicates that it can work with IBM-PC XT/AT, 8086/88, 80286, and 80386 architecture. If memory serves from one of my really early posts (November?) , this form of architecture will work with the 99/4a EEPROMs and GROMs?
+Ksarul
It depends. . . . The device list for the programmer will tell you for sure whether it will work with TI stuff. It will definitely work for some of the chips we use, but the device list will be the only place (either as part of the manual or as part of the programmer software) that will give definitive answers. Look at the linked list. It looks like this programmer will do any of the 27xxx series EPROMs we use now for most everything we build. It won't do the more uncommon 25XX series chips (TI used a lot of these in their hardware, but they were rarely used in third-party stuff). atrax27407
What is the series designation of the Xeltek? Some of the earlier ones ran out of DOS. Assuming that your PC will support the device (and the list of supported chips includes chips that you can use on the TI) it should be of value. Otherwise, it is a door stop. Mehridian Sanders
Superpro / L Universal Programmer ... I have a solder repair to do on it. Should be no problem though. I am lucky that Xeltek hosts their legacy programs. I can do some hocus pocus too...Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
+Ksarul
The software for this one was for DOS, based on the page that sent me to the device list.
Mehridian Sanders
The Superpro /L is a DOS version. 3 minutes ago, Ksarul said: The software for this one was for DOS, based on the page that sent me to the device list. I can use it with the pavilion, going to cover the list for the IC's and see if any match the TI-99/4a
Mehridian Sanders
hmmm Looks like in order to program the EEPROMS it would be a unit about 8-10 years older. Probably not even Xeltek. Maybe the Xeltek Unipro. but I am still looking for a device ID list. or a power rail listing

+Ksarul
If it isn't in the device list I linked above--you probably won't get it to program that device. I only say probably, because you MAY be able to get it to program similar devices from unlisted manufacturers to the devices in the list, as long as they use the same voltages and programming algorithms. If the general device type isn't listed, you are almost guaranteed to be out of luck. . .
Mehridian Sanders
Edit: just saw your post on the other thread. Yeah $500 is kinda stiff for me.
