ApolloBoy
I just got ahold of a 1040STF today and after doing an inspection I noticed that the PSU board is in questionable shape. I could tell something had exploded inside it and was then repaired, but the repair job looks iffy and I'm very hesitant to even plug the thing in. So instead of taking a risk I've decided to go ahead and replace the entire PSU with a PicoPSU, specifically this model. Now I believe the 5V rail on this should be more than enough to power the ST and a Gotek, but I'm not sure about the 12V rail. The documentation I've found for this says that the 12V rail has 400 mA of current but I don't think that's enough for the floppy drive if I ever decide to use it again. Thoughts? Atari8guy
Seems this blog has some good tips. https://blog.troed.se/projects/atari-st-picopsu-replacement/ Also looks like original is 900mA. (based on the image). Thoughts would be maybe step up to the 80W Pico?
