Atari Jingle mystery

Hi together!

On some cassettes we have music besides the data. The attached mp3 sound is extracted form the German Invitation to Programming - Part 2 cassette at the very last end of cassette 2, B side. But I am sure, I have heard this on several Atari cassettes. So, my question for you is: was this an Atari self made jingle or is this from an actual song outthere in the galaxy someone know of? Shazam sadly found nothing. Again, you are the laste hope... ;-)

Thank you all so much.

Listening to "The very best of Mike Batt"...

- The ride to Agadir - nope

- The Walls of the World - nope

- Insh'Allah - not really

- It seemed like a good idea at the time - nope

- Railway Hotel - nope

- Don't let me be misunderstood - nope

- The fires of Rabat - not really

- Caravan on the move - nope

- Journey to Badek - nope

- Caravan song - nope

- Theme from Caravans - not really

- The winds of change - nope

- Portishead radio - nope

- Mona - nope

- Love makes you crazy - nope

- Whispering fools - nope

- Imbecile - nope

- Lady of the dawn - nope

- Run like the wind - nope

There are maybe three songs that have short sounds in them, that sound a bit similar in my opinion, but they are not really what luckybuck is searching with that Atari jingle. Maybe Atari was inspired by Mike Batt a bit and/or simply used some old (and free) 70s sounds ?!?

It sounds a bit like the music for the old Magnum PI show.

Has a very 70s porno vibe to it.  Speaking of - the theme music for "The People's Court" was at one point public domain, and it showed up in a porn.  Sure wish I remembered which one it was, because it was funny as hell when the music started.

I never would have come to that idea. He´s in business for decades and wrote thousands of songs, lots of them for other people. When I meet him next time, I might just play that sound to him, maybe he knows something.

Its very like work by a guy called Meco Monardo who was into disco / funk and did lots of covers of Sci Fi stuff but in the end the actual tune is a very simple repetition (a very nice to listen one) which makes me think its just an in house jingle by some session players, I can't imagine Atari would pay too much for an item only heard asa tape track on a game.

I am 99.9% sure its not from a commercial record as I was and still am a huge fan of this style of music from that era and although my memory isn't perfect I know a disco scene tune when I hear it and its not one that rings a bell.

Would love a better version of it though...

You can find that jingle afair on the following Atari tapes:

- Blackjack

- European countries and capitals

- Hangman

- Invitation to programming 2

- Invitation to programming 3

- Kingdom

- States and Capitals

- and some others which I don't remember

Alas, I do not have a (much) better recording of it.

I reduced the noise but therefore it now sounds as if someone turned down the treble...

Yeah - I also cannot get a decent recording of it either - it sounds pretty crappy on my States & Capitals tape.

I pulled a copy of it off of the States and Capitals dump at Atarimania, and cleaned it up a bit in audacity.

Better I think. There's a bit of clipping going on in the louder sections; It looks like it was recorded a bit too hot, either originally on all tapes, or maybe during the recording of this particular copy.

[edit - pseudo-stereo version added]
