A Homebrew version seems to have stalled. Horse Racing - Ho Hum. Multiple Homebrew versions have once again stalled. Chess Challenger - please NO! A Homebrew version was made that is better than what Coleco would have produced. Smurf Play & Learn - if so (which it isn’t), please UNFIND it. Anyway, Youki’s latest hint rules out any of the above.

However the name is very close to the arcade game it is inspired from. So given the above, I'd say it's one of these: Pac-Man Polaris Pleiads Pac-Man Plus Pengo Pole Position Pooyan Popeye Pac & Pal Phozon Pickin' Pole Position II Professor Pac-Man Pac-Land Pandora's Palace Paperboy Peter Pack Rat Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory Pitfall II: Lost Caverns Are we getting warmer? Pixelboy
My picks would be either Pleiads, or Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory. In fact, a sequel to BurgerTime featuring Peter Pepper but not necessarily set in an "Ice Cream Factory" would fit your clues pretty well. Also, Diner was only released on the Intellivision, if I recall correctly, so perhaps something like "Peter Pepper's Diner"? youki
Ok, it is time to reveal what the game is. I have clarified what need to be clarified with the original authors and .... future publisher.. The game name is : PENGY As you have surely guessed , This a game inspired of PENGO . But it is quite different . the game is not complete, no sound no polishing , few VRAM corruption appear ... but it is playable and have about 20 levels already. I don't say more for now but , the important thing: We managed to retrieve the original source code !!!! and yesterday night i have finally managed to rebuilt it from source code ! So , in collaboration with original authors , i'm going (at least try) to complete it! . Coté Gamer agree to publish it when it will be completed. In addition we (with original authors) give the exclusivity of the history of that game (that is quite interesting!) To coté gamer, the entire history with all details , make in of , Screenshots, documents ..etc..etc.. will be in the booklet provided with the Game Release. for now , i can not announce release date or what ever.... i'll keep you inform on progress.

Pixelboy
I never would have guessed that Pengo was the one. Looking forward to some screenshots, if only to see how Pengy differs from the original arcade game.
