My wife and I have decided to pursue some rather expensive fertility options so I'm selling my entire collection. I'm in Canada, near Toronto btw... I'm not sure if there is still crossborder shipping or not. Only the genesis titles, and the Vectrex have been tested. Buyers have told me that their Nintendo games worked. 90% of it has been sitting in Mom's garage for the last 20 years... I can't really offer refunds because we are also selling the house, cars and anything not attached to the floor.  Would much prefer to meet up in person if possible.

Wow - what a thread!  Your story for wanting to sell this stuff is a good one.

 

I think a little more work formatting the list of stuff you are selling would go a long way.  As an example, seeing a list of SNES games and then immediately switching to N64 and Xbox stuff made me do a double take.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.  I wish it was just a story, the op I have to get is called Micro-TESE and its nearly 20k. It's the last ditch attempt. If anyone else is interested in that particular thing there is a clinic in BC that deals with it. Probably cheaper than using the one in LA because of the higher american dollar. Unfortunately, as with everything in life, there are no guarantees it will work.

This is the email I sent in response to McCarseat, I want you all to be aware... cause I'm not a thief. NEVER EVER EVVVVVVVVVER USE THE FIRST OPTION. I should've known. Super Dave Osborne said it "NEVER ASSUME because you make an ASS out of U and ME". Anyway, if McCarseat doesn't get the goods, I'll refund the money, no questions asked.

No don't I'll send it back, I made a pretty big error at the post office that might end up costing me $200. [I'll refund if it doesn't get to you]. I chose the next shipping option down and had it processed. When I asked the guy for the tracking number he told me that one didn't include tracking. 

 

I said "What? What do you mean?"

 

Apparently they have an option to ship which is a few bucks less that can just get lost or something?!?! And I'm like "That's fine gimme back the package and I'll just redo the form". Dude says that once its been processed, you can't reprocess it without paying the full amount again. I was pretty mad but I guess it was my... yeah.. I... its really my fault for assuming that, I mean it kind of is, I just assumed ALL stuff at the post office had a tracking number. 

 

So I'm hoping your honest and if not well, enjoy the stuff anyway. I'll make a post on my thread about this too so that others can learn from a possible $200 mistake and so you'll know that I'm good for my word. I'll get the receipt to you tonight in a bit, I have to figure out how to do this on my tablet [usually my wife does this part].

Just went back to take a picture of the package (I don't carry a cellphone) and its been sent out. I know that usually the mail isn't picked up till 4:00 but I guess they couldn't be bothered to look for it.

No you are right. It's all top dollar prices he has listed even with currency conversion. If the dude wants ebay prices or better he needs to go to ebay. I understand he wants to put it to a good cause but if he wants to actually sell the stuff he's gonna need to be realistic of what it can sell for. Especially as a brand new user with no feedback on the forum.

That is a load of BS. All that needs to be done is to void the item. You would have had to have sent with small packet air without tracking or insurance if this is the spot you're in. If the buyer paid for tracking it's on you to make sure you get it. Sounds like you have some real winners at your local post office from what I've read in your other thread about shipping in the other forum. Combining that with your lack of knowledge in the field of shipping packages has made this bed your in.

That is not fair on your part to post about the buyer. You made a mistake, not him. Don't be posting passive aggressive BS insinuating that he could be stealing from you cause you don't know what the heck you are doing when it comes to shipping packages to people who have entrusted you with their money. It's not right and sure won't gain you any friends around here that is for sure.

See the above shipping issues. That combined with the top dollar prices and how he's publicly putting it out there that a buyer could be a thief cause he messed up and didn't get tracking is what I'm referring to as being bad. Surely could be much better coming out the gate that is for sure.

Me being the buyer here, i'm not taking it as that. I think he's just covering his ass in case it doesn't show and I complain. Also for the items I bought he was very fair in pricing once you converted from canadian to US dollars. I compared his prices to ebay, and my local gamestore, and he was either exactly the same, or in most cases cheaper. So far i'm not worried, if I don't get the items, then him and I will sort things out. That's what Paypal and communication is for. 

 

No offense taken on my part and hopefully I get the games.

Glad things are good on your end. Myself I had a bit of a "WTF" moment there, cause like you said, this is stuff that should be dealt with between you and him directly, not out in the public for all to see.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, slow down there Tex, there's no passive aggressive anything being posted. I think you're reading into it a little bit much.  I sense you are a very intense individual. I posted that not because I'm trying to cover my ass or anything of the sort. I fucked up on the tracking bit and I posted that so that you all know that I owe this guy his money back if the goods don't arrive and I'm willing to do so. I hate thieves, cheats and liars more than you could possibly understand. I posted FOR McCarseat's benefit, not the other way around. Obviously, I need to get the rest of this stuff sold. I'll take down the message once it's all gone. I work in a jail bro, honesty and transparency is very important for us, passive aggression gets you killed. 

 

It's there for the public to see, on MY thread because I have the integrity to admit my mistakes and own up to any possible consequences PUBLICLY. If he's a scum bag, which I doubt very much, I'd still rather him enjoy the games and hardware then sit there feeling guilty and pitch them out his window one day. They were my childhood toys so... even if I don't get paid for them, I don't want them ending up in a landfill somewhere.

The Game Gears are cheap? Well that's news to me. One doesn't start up... I don't think the other does either....so there's that. I'm trying to be as transparent as possible here, I don't need any legal trouble, it would interfere with my job. Nothing is tested except for the Vectrex. I found the cables for my Neo Geo but they were squashed, somebody still bought it though. Yesterday somebody bought Popful Mail on Ebay 30 seconds after I posted it. I said to the guy that it was kinda scratched and offered to send more pics if he wanted to refuse it, but he still said yes to almost 700 bucks. I don't mind using EBAY, but I've never tried selling anything on it before. I don't know the first thing about shipping but I have a feeling I'm getting gyped a bit... the guy that runs the post office near my house, well he's friendly in that "I secretly think you're a jerk" (kind of way). The guy told me you couldn't UNPROCESS it, that's what he said. I don't run the store and I have a bit of a history with the local boys so I don't want any flak. I could've probably raised a little hell, but here in Canada, people will call the 5-0 over an insult.  Do you think I would have let this happen if I could have paid a few bucks extra to avoid it? Think about it. 

 

 Somebody just bought Alex Kidd from me.. man I'm just here to get rid of these things so that I can have a baby...that's all.
