mdivancic
I’ve been on the hunt for the following games From Simulations Canada for quite some time. These are hybrid computer/board games. Red text indicates I’m missing the board game component as well as the software. Note these game were also available on the C64, Apple II, Amiga and IBM PC and the board game components are exactly the same.
mdivancic
Quick update to this topic. I managed to locate a copy of the disk for Golan Front and the physical components for Gray Seas, Gray Skies (not listed). I’ve also taken the time to get everything I have uploaded to Atarimania so check it out. All rules, counters and maps for several of these games are now there. If you have any of the other missing games please let me know?
mdivancic
Another update! Battle Tank: Barbarossa to Stalingrad Another plea: If anyone has any of these missing games please make a copy of the disk and get it posted or send it to me. If you have any of the missing components and can scan them even better.
+DarkLord
I'm curious about the "hybrid" part... Do you have to have both components to be able to play, or can (for example) the computer component be played stand alone? Thanks.

The map and counters are your screen for these games. Some games like the Long Lance series are basically played on graft paper so you could get by using paper and pencil to play. Others, you would have to have a very good memory to play without the components. In Battle of the Atlantic you would have to keep track of almost 100 ships and dozens of sightings each turn. I’m sure back in the day publishers thought this would appeal to traditional gamers. I enjoy these map and counter games for what they are, something transitional that we will never see the likes again.

mdivancic
My long term goal is to redo maps and add counters for the games that are missing them. In my free time of course.
