Odd Serial Number Help (I Need)

Hi,

I have ran across a couple of serial numbers on 2609's that I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on. I posted the N 002081 quite some time ago but did not get a lot of response and no answers so I thought I would try again. Now I have another odd SN I know nothing about and was hoping some of you smart people would chime in with a bit of info.  I looked on Rev's Serial Number Database but could find no info.

My guess is these are from another country.

What else is on the bottoms of units?

Are they molded USA, Hong Kong, or no moldings on bottom plastic? ( if the shells have no country moldings at all, they were definately not made in U.S.)

Those were made about an hour from my house !

That 2609-8400 is pretty odd.  Out of curiosity, do they have the other stickers on them?  What are the watts?

The serial 4000292 Intellivision looks similar to those with 300k serials.  It could be among the first Intellivisions manufactured in Hong Kong.

This 2609-0350 has the standard USA tag. It's early as it is 15 Watts. The mold on the case is Hong Kong 1979.  I need to go dig out the 209-8400 and see what other tags are on it.

There’s another of these ‘N’ units on eBay right now with a very low serial number.

That ebay seller describes it as "the lowest production number", but the case moulding is the same as those in the 600k serial number range.  I think N serial numbers are their own limited series.

That’s what I was thinking as well. Even with the low number, doesn’t seem that early.

Yes, i forget what Geographical location N is from, but it is definately not an early unit. I bet Cmart has one.. maybe ask him.

Based on the service sticker it looks like it was for the USA.  Not sure what the N means.  Maybe it was a return, made in Hong Kong, refurbished in the US.

I don't think that's two million. If you look at the earlier post with the MM prefix above it has the offset 2 as well. I think this is number 5865 of a Canadian run.

Yes, and the two million series looks to be newer than the more common one million series of Canadian Intellivisions.

Yah I checked through my Canadian ones and there were four or five MM prefixes with the 2 offset, then two zeroes and then a four digit number, which to me means they were/are all under 10000. Most of the rest were the RH prefixes, can't remember the rest of the serial number range off the top of my head, and then there's one final one that starts with a "C". I think I posted pics before but will be documenting them all soon.

Are any of your MM Intellivisions with the matching box?

 

It would also be good to know what the upper end of the serial # range for 2609 RH Intellivisions is. The highest I've seen is about 1118000.
