pmack10
All I have an Atari TT030 and everything was working fine. Today I turn it on and I have no video signal. The computer turns on, the HD light briefly fires up but then it keeps the floppy light on. I tried inserting floppies but nothing changes. Any ideas of what could be going on and how I can troubleshoot it? Thanks
mdivancic
I would start by checking the power supply. Make sure the voltages are correct.
pmack10
Thanks Mike. It does look like something is wrong with the power supply... Do you know of anyone who sells replacements or is there any way to replace this for a modern power supply?
MasterMotorola
pmack10, search for the Mean Well RQ-65C (quite a few members here have used the 65B model in their STs). If you want a fan that is almost silent, I highly recommend the Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX.
pmack10
Thanks! I looked it up and it seems easy to find. It looks like they have variants with or without shielding, what do you suggest? Is it a pretty straight forward conversion (it looks like all voltages are there) or does it require any customization?
MasterMotorola
pmack10, I haven't updated my PSU yet, only the fan (I haven't updated the clock battery either, it's still the original from 28 years ago ?). But others on the forum have installed the Mean Well so perhaps someone can comment. Have you checked the fuse in the PSU to make sure it's not just a blown fuse? If you do want to update the PSU, this great video by Jan Beta shows the same procedure on a Mega ST...
MasterMotorola
I see you have since listed the TT on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324363840510
