SOLD: 120GB SATA SSDs

I have five 120GB SATA SSDs, 2.5" form-factor, pulled from retired desktops and secure-wiped.

  • 2x Samsung 840 EVO
  • 2x Samsung 850 EVO
  • 1x Intel 320 Series

I have used all three models in my Amiga 4000D with CyberStorm Mk-III and ACard (R.I.P.) UW-SCSI-to-SATA converter.

$5 each, plus USPS First Class, which should be between $3 and $5, depending upon your location.

How heavily used the 840s or 850s how many years or hours?

You can install ssd life and it will tell you.

I can use the Samsung Drive Magician, too, but you are the only one who cared about it.  Maybe next time.  I SMART tested my spinning rust drives when I wiped them, but the SMART reader does not report well for SSDs.

Is it a good idea??

It is not a bad idea.  I have NASes which use SSDs for caching.  The SSDs in those have out-lived their hard drives.  Eventually the SSDs may die, their lifespans may be more relevant for some uses and loads than others.
