Super Listings

Does anyone have any idea how to create a listing like that ?

I use Altira 3.9 on PC but I guess it is a specific utility...

I would like to do so with TurboBasic 1.5 XL listings, Atari basic listings, and Synassembler listings.

I guess as long as I can save the file in ascii (atascii) mode I could do that with a utility to create a PNG.

Thanks for any replies.

Ok, this works, but I found out that it works better to "LIST H:LISTING.TXT" using the HOST device of Altirra, the read the file with Memopad.

This way I can avoid some weird characters...

BUT, I did not find yet how to create a long vertical picture of all the listing at once !

So, 99% of the problem is fixed.

Here is where I got the original snapshot of ANTS IN YOUR PANTS in twitter.

I am not registered on twitter. (And not really interested too...)

I am trying to reach Brad Smith to find it's magic trick.

I left a message on youtube.

To be continued...

Ok thanks people for your help !

The site Vitico does a good job but split the listing in multiple page, wich I didn't really liked in this case particularly,

For printing Atascii listing on paper, it semmd perfect.

But I guess in my case I was more looking in a poster kind of thing.

I didn't mentioned it anyway before, not being too shure what I wanted.

So for the final verdict, here is my process:

1- Using Altira, I set up a HOST folder on drive C.

2- I loaded the basic file in Atari basic, then listed it as "LIST H:ASSAULT.TXT" (this file being saved as Atascii.)

3- I loaded the file in Eric Parent's NotePad (x868k.com also known as older JoyFull Coder) v.29 and I used HyperSnap 7.29 to capture and scroll the window

content using CTRL-SHIFT-S.

Note that I inserted a blank line at the top since hypersnap missed some pixels, not shure why in this case.

One option in Memoblad is to let you insert space (in pixels) between lines and columns.

This allow you to see more clearly the reversed video characters specially when you get many reversed blank spaces together.

It allows you to easily count how many of them are present.

But not for normal spaces.

I wish there was something in that case, like hollow boxes to show spaces.

If anyone knows how to join Eric Parent, I would like to suggest this to him.

And also to insert leading zero's in the display wher seeing in binary mode.

(0F) rather than ( F).

Or to have the option to do so.

Here is the result.

Thanks, will take a look !

By the way, Memopad v29 is dated May 2020 ! Very Recent, so the author should still be reachable !

On the site x868k.com there is no link to  leave comments or reach the author...

I saw that he moved from JoyFulCoder to x868k not very long ago...

Here is the latest super listing printout I did for experimenting.

It is part of a 68000 Development kit my friend Harry Konstas and I created in the 80's.

I am reworking on the project and it makes me feel old and nostalgic !

But fills me with joy remembering the old time of 6502 Assembly Programming where each byte count !

Dodo time for now, 3h40 am !

;-)

PS: Long ago, you could tell about a man's income by the amount of memory in his computer !

Hello,

Memo Pad's Binary View has a Leading Zero option for both Offset and Data values.  See Preferences on Edit menu.  Is this what you need?

Regarding the "hollow boxes" for spaces you will probably need to wait for the ability to use fonts created with Atari 8-bit font editors.

I'm currently trying to wrap up a big web project.  Once that is done then I will have time to get back to Memo Pad.

Thanks.
