BSRSteve
I have written up a page on the history of the Mattel boxes and the part numbers. This is mostly from deducing the history. It is not supported by any historical documentation. Except for the part number listing, it only covers the versions for the US market so far. https://history.blueskyrangers.com/mattelelectronics/packaginghistory.html 7
+Steve Jones
Very cool, thanks for the info. A couple of things not listed in the part numbers at the top: International boxes with no slots on back. Not sure the logic of these but they have just the screenshots on the back like the slotted versions, but no actual slots. The multi-language manuals. I only have pics of a couple right now but there seems to be no connection I can see in the part numbers

The beige ones (Burger Time, Shark Shark, etc)? Do they even have a visible part number other than the part number for the title?
+Steve Jones
No there are European ones that look the same as the ones with slots in the back except there are no slots cut in them I have a couple but I’m not home right now to take a pic
mr_me
While many people here know that the Canadian editions were dual language, English and French; I think it would be more correct to describe them as "Canadian Bilingual".

+Steve Jones
Interesting how there are small differences in language between European Spanish and Mexican Spanish And I guess the Mexican part numbers didn't add the second part to denote the language. When you rename a game for the British market und use a screen shot with the American name in the instructions of the console. I know that the ROM was not changed, but there were about 20-30 other games at the time which they could have used. +Steve Jones
Excuse the glare, here are a few I have. With the exception of the slots they are identical front back inside bottom everything Not sure what language manual was originally inside, due to space limitations I’ve been putting multiple euro manuals in one box

Humblejack
How about Hockey with only 1 pic? It's the 0410 box but has a 0920-G1 manual. Lock'N'Chase from Australia And Armor Battle, also 0410 box with a 0131 Italian manual. Space Battle, Italian but with 2 pics.
