During a fire at Corporate they lost all the automatic Server backups. I would make backups of backups of backups onto old hard drives and stash them in the vaults. Due to this when they found my backups of backups they could restore entire network to then upgrade. Without this backup they would need to upgrade hundreds or thousands of apps and OS upgrades step by step. This would have been a disaster for the robots and other systems.

LOL TAPE melted in vault fire, Hard Drives are used to 140 degree heat. A few of the Hard Drives at bottom did melt, and tapes in vaults did melt, this why they messed up as no sprinkler in vault storage area as computers are there. I also made Tape too, but as explained they did not do well in fire.

Hmm the storage room was in Corporate and they shipped my storage backups from Factory to Corporate. I had vaults (safes) and those were in storage room behind server room during fire at Corporate. I also had one vault at Factory, that is the one with no damage at all. They were split up over the years after I left, but as there were so many I had made all over it worked out best. Old saying do not put all your eggs into one basket!
+x=usr(1536)
Folks: offsite. Whatever media it is, offsite. Sure, failures can still take place - but tapes and/or drives stored away from the MDF / Datacentre / crappy little server room are a shitton safer than if they're next to the server that just failed. Then again, your data loss issues are not my problem. Do as you please 2

Do as you please My point was we never lost anything as I had multiple backups and spread out in 3 locations so one fire would not be enough to be a problem. It would take 3 fires at 3 separate locations 5 miles apart to take out all the data I backed up. Most people have a server room that backs up other servers and that is the one that was on fire. See all eggs in single basket. Servers are backed up remotely and that is the one that burned down.
