ed1475
I've uploaded a video using the Lynx web browser on a 1996 Packard Bell computer with the Windows 95 operating system. Lynx is a text based web browser introduced in 1991. The version I'm using is 2.8.3 from 23 April 2000. I visit a few old http websites and also sites that use the archaic Gopher protocol. There are Gopher sites that have gateways to Wikipedia, CNN and Reddit, text only though but with nearly instant page loading on a 100 MHz Pentium 1 computer. mr_me
That's how I started on the internet in 1994 with my 386sx. My internet service provider was text only; Pine for email.
MrMaddog
Wow, I'm surprised there's a native Windows version of Lynx.... I remember having to use a UNIX shell account to browse the web with Lynx, on a Windows PC (in university) I used both a Telnet app running Lynx and a graphical web broswer like Mosiac.
