I need some input/advice on restoring the TI cover

A few years ago I purchased a cover off of ebay for my TI, but it came with some "folds" or "lines" that I hoped would disappear over time, but haven't.  I know a few of you out there also have the same cover, so I'll ask you...  If you had the same issue and fixed it, how did you do it? 

 

 

As you can see the "folds" ruin the entire appearance.   Thanks!

Is that real leather?  I wonder if an iron on very low heat would work?

 

I don't have one myself so please take my advice with an extra grain of salt.  Maybe put a moist rag between the iron and cover.

I'll give that a try after the new year.  No, it's not real leather, it might be "pleather".

Indeed, in the case of PU leather, any strategy for dealing with wrinkles essentially comes down to melting it just a bit.  Which is to say, careful application of heat, in order to render the polyurethane just pliable enough to allow for removal of abnormalities, without actually destroying the grain.
