Alter Ego: Dreamwalker, a Genesis port of an old Windows Phone game (!!).
 

 

Pretty fun although it feels as though it’s missing SOMETHING. Only took 45 minutes with a lot of deaths.

 

 

I don’t think I would buy it on cartridge, but on an Evercade cartridge it is well worth playing!

8. Bladed Fury (PS4)

Bought this on a whim seeing the price had dropped at Gamestop. It's a surprisingly solid lil' hack n' slash... a bit short & shallow, but fluid controls, enjoyable combat & nice art. Sort of a poor man's Vanillaware game. Nothing worth full price- but I paid 10 bucks for it. At that amount, it's definitely worth it!

Pop Breaker - Game Gear - left configuration! The only one I got totally stuck on was 48. There are 50 levels, a fact not documented anywhere on the public internet.

FATAL RUN (ATARI 2600)

 

The main objective is to drive to the rocket site in order to launch a satellite which will eliminate the radiation effects and then save the world.

To do this, there are 32 levels to complete this exciting game and deliver needed medication to save the humanity in each city.

In each stage, speed is the most important factor to save people as many as possible, and therefore earn more money to repair the car and purchase a bunch of fuel. The priority is for more damaged parts in the Upgrade/Repair Screen (Engine, Tires and Armor).

After many learnings and attempts for 2600 High Score Club, I won this game by driving harder and agressively, completing 32 levels and then reaching the rocket launch site.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA)

 

I loved the first half of it, but got pretty bored as some point during the second.  Game didn't do anything different or "wrong," but just started feeling like a bit of a chore to me for some reason.

 

Overall, I still liked it quite a bit, though.

Were you going for 100%? That can be a very grindy experience…

 

I do think most of the exciting, splashy non-boss set pieces tend to be front-loaded in the Igavanias, particularly the more recent ones, so the late game tends to be more of the same. Plus once exploration is replaced by backtracking impatience tends to creep in.

I think that was it, really.  That, plus the fact that things were getting more difficult (naturally) so it was taking a bit longer to do that backtracking.
