Joey Kay
Is 1,000 points for killing a pterodactyl a little cheap? Seems it ought to have been at least a 2,000 point kill, given that Shadow Lords are worth 1,500. In fact, I can't think of a more disproportionately-valued score in a game, at least on the 7800... +MattelAquarius
Interesting point. Perhaps their reasoning was that a Pterry kill would be so difficult that any success would mostly be from luck. Therefore, you should just be happy that you're still alive, and the 1000 points is bonus gravy.
ChildOfCv
According to some gaming historian, the pterodactyl was programmed to really be invincible, but someone behind the scenes changed it to merely hard to kill. That may be one explanation for the odd scoring.
Trebor
There is a pterodactyl wave. If one was to sweet spot constantly killing it, points can rack up rather quickly. Just leave one of the enemy knight buzzards on the screen and keep killing the pterodactyls that come out.
Almost Rice
I got so bored of the game I played to kill those Pterries. Try it. Can be fun when you grow tired of playing normally.
Joey Kay
Good points. The thunderous sound effect and pterry's disintegration into pixels is pretty satisfying, too.
