Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Star Trek - The Promethean Prophecy were the first two adventure games I can remember playing. It was at a friend's house on his father's IBM PC. I didn't realize it was released on the TI-99/4A though but I guess it was available on pretty much every computer there ever was. I have a boxed copy of it for my Atari 800.
