Ballblazer 7800 - Worth to buy?

The title says it all. If you find Ballblazer for the Atari 7800 at a moderate cost, is it worth to buy?

Yes, for 2 reasons:

 

1.  It's an awesome game!

2.  If the day comes when you need a spare POKEY (like if you buy a Concerto cart) then you can harvest the POKEY chip out of your Ballblazer cart for use elsewhere.

Of course, the cartridge I found is not in mint conditions, the box is damaged, it's not CIB but it's complete. I don't care much about the box, honestly. I need to fix my Atari (RF out is broken), and I need a Pokey chip game to test Audio. I have seen 8 Bit Guy's video when he modded his Atari 7800 and how important is to do the composite mod correctly. That's why.

Skip the crappy-ass composite mod David did in that video. Instead, contact @MacRorie at TheBrewingAcademy.com for a UAV board, then look up @-^CrossBow^-'s 7800 UAV Installation Guide thread here in this forum. Much better results and your eyeballs will thank you.

I have to go with no.  It's a powerful demonstration of the graphics ability that was possible.  The gameplay is, well, boring.  A good one to borrow for an afternoon rather than buy.

I purchased an extra cart from a flea market 2+ years ago for $5 (he was asking $8). Specifically bought for the Pokey, so yes it was worth it at that price.

 

Pokey now resides in my Concerto cart.
