fakecortex
Here's a game I experienced backwards, having grown up on the Master System version and only recently playing the ones that came before. I love the SMS version, one of my favs on the system, and I thought the jumping on that was hard, jeez. The added difficulty of lining up with the ladders here will probably make or break my runs. I had a lot of fun playing this in the SMS HSC last year. I even made maps of the levels. Seems to be the same layout so far. 13,450

jblenkle
Hmmm...very strange. I tried playing Montezuma's Revenge on my ADAM with my AtariMax cart just now and the first time the game locked up after playing about 10 minutes. The second time I had finished Level 1 and was starting on Level 2. I climbed a ladder to the top of the screen and fell off!!! I didn't know you could fall off ladders. I only had two lives left at that point and climbed the ladder twice more, falling off again each time as I reached the top of the screen. Anyone else experiencing glitches? I'll have to play this same ROM on my ColecoVision and see if it does anything weird there.

Funny you say that - I'm running on linux CoolCV and when a game ends, the game locks up. The only way to replay it is to exit out and start it up again. I tried roms from different sources (including this one) with the same effect. There were 12k versions and 16k versions. On one, when I got to the 2nd level, it corrupted the 'inventory box' with weird characters and I had 2 or 3 slots to use instead of 5. They all did the did the lockup, so it either is a problem with my config, or within CoolCV.

It's rattling around in my head now that I had similar problems on my ADAM last time we played this. It seems fine in emulation. I will try it on my ColecoVision a little later via the AtariMax cart. I don't have an original cartridge of this game.
fakecortex
Oof @jblenkle, got some good scores. I'm not finding my groove with the controls on this version. Some improvement: 17,900 \ Hate to see a wasted sword like that...

OriginalJohn
200,350 - It's been a long time since I've played this, but it was one of my favorites. In this one I was one screen away from the treasure room. Bah! Edited March 25, 2021 by OriginalJohn

S.BAZ
6,900 I always prefer the 2600 version of this but of course that's the one I started out on. This is the farthest I've gotten in this version. I just don't know anything else to do (besides jumping to my death for the points picking up that knife.) Everywhere else seems a dead end and I doesn't seem to be a key available for that other door. Edited March 26, 2021 by S.BAZ

Everywhere else seems a dead end and I doesn't seem to be a key available for that other door. That knife, as far as I know, is a trap. Don't fall for it! Haha. Not that I've gotten much farther in this version, but all the keys for the first section of the game are ready if you take the right path. Making, or referencing, a map is a big help.
